Meet
Dan Ison

Dan Ison is pro-life, pro-gun conservative business leader who has served as Shelby County Judge Executive since 2017.  He lives his life by the Shelby County balance—keeping what works, tossing what doesn’t, and growing where it’s needed.

For nearly 30 years, Dan oversaw community relations for an international tobacco company where he gained a deep understanding of this region and its people. He left to join a consulting firm where he was instrumental in a $115 million investment of Bulleit Distillery in Shelby County.

Over the years, Dan has been recognized for his leadership throughout the community, including by serving on the Simpsonville Volunteer Fire Department board, the executive committee of the Agribusiness Industry Network, and the board of Greater Louisville Inc, (Metro Chamber of Commerce).

He is a veteran of the United States Air Force who was in combat in the Vietnam War.

Dan is married to Debbie Holloway, and they are blessed with a daughter, a son, and four grandchildren.
